Welded wire mesh is a steel wire grid welded at each intersection for uniformity and stability. It surpasses woven meshes in consistency and strength, determined by wire thickness and grid size. Made from galvanized steel to prevent rust, it’s also available in a more durable stainless steel variant. For additional protection, a PVC coating is an option.
The mesh comes in two varieties: GAW, which is welded then galvanized for comprehensive protection, and GBW, where pre-galvanized wire is welded, potentially reducing zinc at junctions but remaining cost-effective.
Applications of welded wire mesh include:
Fencing for residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
Animal cages and enclosures.
Machinery and window guards.
Agricultural uses such as plant supports.
Construction reinforcement for concrete (reinforcing mesh).
Shelves and racks in stores and workshops.
Architectural uses, like decorative grilles.
