PVC coated welded wire mesh, also known as vinyl coated welded wire mesh, is a durable wire fabric welded and then coated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Available in various colors such as green, blue, and black—with green being the most popular—it is sold in panels, sheets, and rolls depending on the wire diameter. PVC coated mesh offers enhanced corrosion resistance and aesthetic appeal compared to galvanized wire mesh. Its durability and ability to resist corrosion make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, while its range of colors allows it to aesthetically integrate into diverse environments.
Production
Galvanized Before Welding (GBW)
In this method, each wire is galvanized before it’s welded into a mesh. This process is cost-effective and helps in reducing upfront costs. However, the welding can compromise the zinc coating at the wire intersections, potentially reducing the corrosion resistance at these points.
Galvanized After Welding (GAW)
With this approach, the mesh is first welded from plain steel wire and then the entire panel is galvanized. This ensures thorough coverage, including the weld points, offering enhanced protection against corrosion. Though more protective, this method is costlier due to the additional processing required.
Colors
PVC coated welded wire mesh is available in a variety of standard colors suited for different uses and environments.
- Dark Green (RAL6005): Popular for blending with outdoor settings such as gardens and parks.
- Pure White (RAL9010): Ideal for bright and reflective applications, often used indoors or for architectural features.
- Stone Grey (RAL7030): A neutral choice that suits urban and industrial areas, helping to conceal dirt and wear.
- Jet Black (RAL9005): Sleek and versatile, perfect for both security purposes and decorative uses.
- Anthracite Grey (RAL7016): A deep grey favored for modern designs and as an architectural accent.

Use of Vinyl Coated Welded Wire Mesh
- Security Fencing: Uses thicker wires for strength, often in sizes like 1 x 2 inches.
- Residential Fencing: Common sizes are 1/2 inch to 1 inch, balancing visibility and durability.
- Small Animal Cages: Smaller mesh sizes such as 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch are used for safety and containment.
- Large Animal Enclosures: Larger mesh sizes with thicker wires for durability, like 1 x 2 inches. Agricultural Uses
- Plant Supports: Mesh sizes like 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch help support growing plants.
- Garden Fencing: Commonly uses 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch mesh sizes to protect gardens from pests.
- Facade Cladding and Decorative Installations: Larger or visually appealing mesh sizes like 1 x 2 inches or 2 x 2 inches are chosen for their aesthetic qualities.
- Machine Guards and Safety Barriers: Robust wire diameters with mesh sizes from 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch are selected for protection and visibility.
- Mesh Gabions: Large mesh sizes (3 inches or 4 inches) with thick wires are used to prevent erosion and stabilize structures.
- Cargo Racks and Storage Bins: Durable meshes in sizes like 1 inch to 2 inches are preferred for handling heavy loads and various materials.
